DUE TO CAUTIONARY MEASURES associated with COVID-19, ALL HONOR FLIGHTS HAVE BEEN POSTPONED for the 2020 season. Please check back regularly for updates about flights in 2021.

The National Board has extended the suspension of all Honor Flight travel through the remainder of calendar year 2020.  This decision was not made lightly. We’d like to share a note from Meredith Rosenbeck, CEO, from the national office: “The safety of our veterans has always been and will continue to be the number one priority of the Honor Flight Network.  Our veterans are among the most vulnerable of the population as it relates to serious complications and death from COVID-19 and, as a result of this, it is just not prudent for Honor Flight to risk the health and safety of those we seek to honor at this juncture. The national staff will continue to be available to assist Hubs in any way we can or answer any questions you may have.  We look forward to resuming flights with you all again in 2021.

  1. It was heart warming to see the reception that the vets got at DCA this morning. After these heroes had passed through the crowds I spoke to Andy Leighton, the volunteer musician at the ceremony. I just wanted to say that his beautiful musical tributes on his French Horn made the arrival of each vet even more special.

  2. I am wondering if there are any photos for the group that arrived in mid October from SFO. I am trying to put pictures together for 2 Veterans that went and would love ANY photos that can be shared

  3. Kim,

Did they come into Reagan or Dulles? My husband and I take alot of photos – but we greet at Dulles.

    Susan Spaulding

  5. I have attended many times before. My husband used to play in the Main Street Band from Fairfax city. So we would like to come to a flight where that band is playing so that Paul can join them. Jenny Ebert

  6. Does the October 22,2016 Honor Flight include Vets. from Mt. Carmel, Illinois at Evansville Ind.?

  7. Charles — We are not in charge of the roster for each flight, but in looking at the hub website , it seems like that hub serves the Indiana counties of Crawford, Daviess, Dubois, Gibson, Knox, Lawrence, Martin, Orange, Perry, Pike, Posey, Spencer, Vanderburgh and Warrick.

  8. Morning,
I see on schedule flights through December 11th requesting Greeters at DCA for arrival, departure and Memorials. I am a DCA Guardian and love volunteering for Austin & Houston hubs. Do any of these one day listed flights utilize DCA Guardians? If so, appreciate being put on your request list. My name is Debbie Bolstad contact debbiebolstad@gmail.com. Love to help out if you need.

  9. Wow! I am so touched by all of this.
What an amazing way to say thank you! I am going to see what I can do to get my 104 yr old WWII Dad on an “Honor Flight”. We are in the Los Angeles area, and I notice all flights coming from Ca. depart from SFO. He’s in good physical condition for his age.
I want to thank you again for doing this. It touches my heart.

  10. In viewing the schedule I noticed no stops at the Vietnam memorial and yet such veterans are eligible for the flights. Confused.

  11. Terry — These are just some of the stops on the trip. Most hubs often stop at the Vietnam Wall and several other locations throughout the day, we don’t have the timing for those stops, though.

  12. My brother just returned from an Honors flight on Saturday, April 28th out of Columbus Ohio. What a welcome he had at John Glenn International Airport. Special thanks to all involved in this special activity for the veterans. Your service is much appreciated.

  13. Hello,

I flew down on 11/3 to meet my cousin from Wisconsin from the Badger Honor Flight division. I was able to see the whole event come together which was totally amazing. I am so impressed with the turn out by the military, the local organizations, the DC Badger contingency and all of the volunteers and strangers coming out to greet our veterans.

I wanted to take the time to say thank you to all who are behind the scenes and in the middle of the event. I am trying to find the name and contact information of the gentleman, John, who was instrumental in setting up all of the people etc at Ronald Reagan airport. I’m not sure if he was with American or Honor Flight, but he was definitely the man in the know. Also, there was a military person assigned to travel around DC with the Badger group. I’d like to get his name and contact info as well.
These two gentlemen were instrumental in making sure I was in the right place at the right time so I could capture the event for my cousin (who was totally surprised).

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for all that you do for our vets and their families. I look forward to getting involved in the not to distant future and submitting various veterans’ names to the program.

    Keep up the amazing work.

    Deb Proto

  14. This sounds amazing. I am a Vietnam veteran & absolutely need to see the Vietnam Memorial Wall. Are there only certain group that does this. I live in central Florida.

  15. Hi there — I’m interested in bringing my daughter’s Girl Scout troop to greet the veterans on Sat. Oct. 26. It’s a group of 23 girls. Do you have any guidelines for a group of this size? Should each parent register their own daughter for the gate access pass? Thanks so much for all you do!!

  16. Hi there! Please reach out to your local hub; they will certainly appreciate the support! The DCA Honor Flight crew only helps with greeting in DC on a strictly volunteer basis. We do not coordinate any flights or financial support for Honor Flight National.
