Honor Flight volunteers- the 2015 schedule has been posted for March-April of 2015! Please click on the “2015 schedule” tab at the top to see more information. New this year- we’ve made it easier than ever to request a GAP for each flight if available. Just click on the “GET YOUR GAP HERE” link in each HF spec to sign up.

New volunteers should sign up for guardian training (details below):

Guardian Training Sessions on Feb. 18th at 7:15 pm and Mar. 23rd at 6:45 pm. Both of these sessions will take place at the Westover Branch of the Arlington Public Library. The address is: 1644 North McKinley Rd Suite 3, Arlington, VA 22205.

All Guardians must receive formal training before serving an Honor Flight, be between the ages of 18 and 65, and be able to lift 100 pounds with assistance. Guardians will walk approximately 3 miles throughout the day, and will likely be required to push a wheelchair carrying a veteran.

Honor Flight Indy on April 4th The hub from Indianapolis is in need of a large number of guardians for their trip. Details are emerging, but guardians would likely meet the flight at Reagan National in the morning and return to the gate with the group in the evening. If you are interested in this guardian opportunity, please send an email to Laura at honorflightguardians@gmail.com and her know whether you have been trained or are in need of training.
